The Laikipia Wilderness Area is a huge region in the northern central park of Kenya. The area is open to great wildlife, stunning lodges and stunning views. Conservancies and ranches make up a large part of Laikipia trying to create a place for the local people and the wildlife to coexist and protect the region. Wide open plains in the shadow of the snow-capped silhouette of Mount Kenya create a tranquil and secluded setting, where game drives encounter wildlife including endangered species such as black rhino, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and wild dogs with few other vehicles in sight. There are a wide range of camps and lodges, many of them as eco friendly as they come! Activities are almost endless. Each properties has a wide range of fun things to do. Helicopter scenic flights have become very popular in Laikipia and a great way to explore the far north areas like Lake Turkana.
